What is Market order?

A market order means buy or sell right now at whatever the current price is.

The simple explanation

It is fast and almost always gets filled, but the exact price can differ slightly from what you saw, especially in fast moving or thinly traded stocks.

An example

You place a market order for 10 shares and they are bought immediately at the best available price.

Why it matters

It is the simplest way to trade when speed matters more than the exact price.
